Jelo and Vibration on 45mm

[InspireAndAspire]

Currently using an Inspire 1 v2.0, purchased an x5 camera separately
Purchased an olympus 45mm, perfectly balanced it with a 37-52mm and a cpl
I also have a generic lens hood which also perfectly balances the lens

As soon as my Inspire lifts in the air, I'm getting jelo and vibrations

I am not getting this with my 12mm Olympus and my 15mm DJI lens.


Any suggestions and tips to prevent this?

Please do a search on the forum as this has been covered numerous times previously.
Just typing in "Jello with 45mm" will bring up several threads on the subject.
Like 45mm / Gimbal settings ?

As Editor noted, it has been reported often. My experience is that it is most noticeable while flying sideways, with the gimbal pointed forward, exposing the side of the gimbal to the wind. Flying forward or backward seems to reduce or eliminate the jello.

I've also been getting jelo on the 42mm of the 14-42mm

I just replaced the propellers, and now i'm getting less vibration. I now suspect that my propellers were unbalanced, causing the vibrations.

After conducting the laser method, (which is actually very easy and probably the best way to balance a multirotor), I discovered that one of my motors are imbalanced. Apparently all my propellers are balanced, one of the motors consistently vibrates.

When newly purchasing an inspire, always conduct a laser test! One of your motors could be faulty just like mine.

Trying to figure out now how to fix the imbalanced motor.

Did you disconnect all motors but one for your laser test? Would be interested to hear more about your test and if a replacement motor had a meaningful impact on the stability at 45mm?

No, to conduct this test I didn't need to disconnect any motor. Just checked each motor with a balanced propeller attached (brand new propellers are actually already balanced) using the laser method.


Just replaced the imbalanced motor, now my inspire is flying butter smooth with the 45mm!

You can also remove the lens hood, see if that helps. If acts like a wind scoop and puts a lot of pressure on the gimbal.
