I did my first big ortho capture with the M4E this weekend. This thing is great, did ~100 acres @ GSD 2 with one battery. ~3,200 pics over 35 mins, returned @ 16%. Winds about 7-12mph.

I started running it through WebODM with:

dem-resolution:2.0, dsm:true, dtm:true, feature-quality:ultra, mesh-octree-depth:13, mesh-size:500000, orthophoto-resolution:2.0, pc-quality:ultra

If this even completes I'm expecting at least several days ...

Wow, that's a large project and a ton of images.

My large project came out very nice in Agisoft. I think you will like the outputs.

If Web ODM is like Agisoft, RAM is important. If Agi runs out of RAM it will crash or just process forever without finishing.

Yeah, I have a ton of RAM, 256GB. The most I've seen WebODM sucking down so far is around 220GB ... it's a greedy beast! Been working through some errors I'm getting with this dataset, trying just an ortho run now.

I'd like to try out DJI Terra but I don't have a Nvidia GPU.

I think I saw an Agisoft map you posted, looked real nice!

When your map finishes you will like it. The Matrice has good colors to its images and picks up a lot of detail with the 4/3 sensor.

I don't really use my free Terra account too much. Agisoft pretty much beats it in everything except the mesh model. Terra's models are a notch better.

I haven't been able to produce what I'd call a good Nadir map.

I get areas that don't line up quite right or are "ghosted" twice, areas that look like snow globes and I have vertical bands where the images appear darker.

It is a fairly heavily treed and brushy plot with open areas and trails mixed in. So inherent challenges, but I feel like I should be able to do better.'

I used the Ortho capture mode with 85% overlap @ GSD 2cm. I'm going to try again, but force only Nadir photos. I'm thinking maybe that helps the snow globe areas. And possibly helps alignment/ghosting issues.

The darker bands, best I can guess is clouds. I can't recall periods of cloud cover like that, but memory is fleeting.

I'm green with this stuff. If anyone who knows better thinks I'm off my rocker or possibly onto something ...
