I would guess its software.
I have a FLIR camera that using software enhances the image.
One thing to keep in mind though is that the sensor resolution is the sensor resolution.
Sensor resolution is one of the factors dictating if a small anomaly can be seen. If the anomaly is too small because of the sensor being too far away, the enhanced image is not going to show it.
Basically if the anomaly isn't in the image to begin with, it won't be enhanced in what you see.
This will have nicer looking images, but it will not be the same as the H30 payload on the M300/350.
