Recommendations for a drone to fit a Mirrorless camera

My friend flew for a company that wanted photos from a Sony A7R IV. They thought his M200 would be big enough, but it just wasn't. They ended up getting an M600, which as you point out is big and heavy. My friend did tell me about this, which sounds like it might be exactly what you are...

First Night Shoot and Client Isn't Happy With Footage

PS I have used EI mode extensively on film sets, but always during the daytime, and always at ISO 100. We use ND filters and narrow apertures to get the appropriate shutter speed. The producers I worked for were very pleased with the resulting footage, given that they didn't have to pay...

First Night Shoot and Client Isn't Happy With Footage

EI mode is very poorly documented. ISO 1600 will produce noisy footage on any camera. What brought you to ISO 1600? What frame ratter and shutter speed were you using? What lens and aperture? My understanding of photography and technology is pretty good, and I don't think that the MicroSD...

    Photo resolution trouble

If you are configured to take raw photos, and if the resulting files are 30 MB, then you have taken a full-resolution photo. For the X5R camera, that resolution is 4600 x 3448. What software is telling you that the resolution is 960 x 720? I just looked at a photo I took with my X5R camera...

Comparing the X5R to the X7 quality. Need advice

I upgraded from the X5R to the X7, and haven't thought about my X5R since. Image quality is better, and ProRes options mean that I haven't needed to record in raw. You call yourself a hobbyist, which makes me think you won't need raw either. Unless you are working on commercial projects where...

moving x5 to x5R? have sense?

If the Inspire 2 is an option, then I think that's the only reasonable choice. The Inspire 1 is an orphaned product, and it's already difficult to get batteries for. The Inspire 2 is much better, with more options, and is still supported by DJI.

USA Regulation Question - Elementary School

What law makes schools a "no-fly zone"? None that I have heard of. And the FAA certainly doesn't think so. By default, anything you can see from public property can be photographed without any concern for violating anyone's privacy. You are smart to avoid photographing children in this way...

    Panasonic 42.5 - 1.7

How are you looking at the images? Micro Four Thirds lenses have profiles embedded into them, which certain software (like Lightroom) uses to render images, fix distortion, etc. It could be that the software you are using isn't applying this profile properly. Also, if you are shooting raw...

SSD Thunderbolt reader and X5R to ProRes

Nil. Neither the Inspire 1 nor the X5R has enough computing power to handle this. The Inspire 2 has this computing power on the craft; the X5S and X7 cameras are relatively low-powered, and just send the video signal to the craft for processing and storage. And anyway, DJI has abandoned the...

    15mm standard camera mount question.

Yes. The X5 camera and DJI 14mm lens have a Micro 4/3 mount. The lens can be used with any M4/3 camera like the Panasonic GH4 and GH5.

    X7 - Focusing Tips & Tricks?

This setting is on the menu brought up by pressing the gear icon in the camera settings display. Sorry I can't fire mine up right now to show you. But bring up the camera settings menu, and you will find three icons along the top; one for video, one for stills, and a gear icon. Press the gear...

USA What is the simplest way to get LAANC authorization? Update: soon DJI!

DJI Can Now Authorize Drone Flights in Controlled Airspace I hope they integrate it right into Go. And then I hope that it works. And then I hope that it works on set, when needed.

USA UK pilot working in USA

No. You can read the FAA rules here: Becoming a Pilot The airmen's knowledge test is quite specific to US airspace regulations and restrictions.

USA UK pilot working in USA

If you fly commercially in the US, then you will need a Remote Pilot In Command (RPIC) with an FAA part 107 license. That can be you, if you study and pass the test. I recommend FAA Drone Certification Test Prep | Drone Pilot Ground School. Or it can be someone else you hire. That person...

ProRes Raw for x7 what about x5s

Your answers are here: XAVC FAQs Why would DJI support a "moderate data rate" codec that isn't supported by NLEs? They are instead supporting high-data-rate codecs supported by NLEs. And yes, ProRes Raw is not yet supported, but you know that its support is coming before XAVC.
