Matrice 4T not saving SRT files

I'm a Search and Rescue Volunteer and we have 2 Matrice 4Ts, but only one is having this problem. We have Video Caption enabled, but the *.SRT files are not being saved anywhere. With the other M4T, they are being saved in the same folders as the videos being collected. The SRT files are very useful (though not required) for when we run video through our Eagle Eyes detection software. Without them, Eagle Eyes can still detect anomalies but not report on their physical location. Does anyone have any ideas?

The drone is being updated today to the latest firmware, etc. Hopefully this will magically fix the issue.

Thanks,
Jen

The only immediate things I can think of are firmware and maybe try a different SD card.

I am having the same issue for our matrice 4T as their appear no .srt files for the thermal videos made.

Did someone find a solution? We have updated the 4t to the newest software.

I'm also a SAR pilot and am experiencing the same issue with my M4T not recording the .srt files.

Hoping someone has some updated information or a solution.

I have an update - not a great one, though. DJI did this intentionally for the M4T (not sure about other models). They no longer separate out the SRT files and telemetry is directly encoded into video. We work with Eagle Eyes and it relies on the SRT files for post-processing. Our SAR IT lead is working directly with the developers to get around this issue.

Hello Jen,

Thanks for your reply.

I also use Eagle Eyes for SAR and have been corresponding with them regarding this issue since I made this post.

This is their response:
"With the introduction of the M4T, DJI started embedding the GPS/location metadata directly inside the video file (instead of writing a separate .SRT file). Eagle Eyes Scan can’t read that embedded location metadata today, which is why your detections came through with no coordinates"......."We’re close to releasing the successor to Eagle Eyes Scan which can read those embedded-location video files. Stay tuned for updates in March."

This is encouraging.

There's hope on the horizon!

Thanks Marcus! I couldn't find the original reply I had received about this, but that is exactly what Eagle Eyes told our IT person who is working very closely with them on developing this.
