X7 16mm doesn't support mechanical shutter?

I'm excited to use my I2 with X7 for mapping in addition to cinematography, and was thrilled to realize that it has a mechanical shutter option in photo mode up to 1/1000. However, the most efficient flight plan asks for a 16mm lens, but according to the official Zenmuse X7 product page, the 16mm lens does not support the mechanical shutter.

Why is that?

The 24, 35, & 50 are Full Frame equipped with leaf shutters, the 16mm is a S35 with included internal ND filter, lacks leaf shutter.

I believe the leaf shutter is required for mechanical shutter below 1/1000. Although I'm not certain, but that is the difference. Below X7 link, #6 and #8.

You brought up a point I hadn't thought of before... the 16mm was in my thoughts too for mapping.

If you're needing wide view, I think the Laowa 9mm would provide mechanical. I used the Laowa MFT on X5S... and it was touchy to get working or reconized by the App. The Laowa 9mm for X7 I've read is much easier to work with on X7 camera and app.
