Uncertainty on Correct Panasonic 14mm-42mm Lens to Order.

I need a great all purpose lens for an upcoming project and see the Panasonic 14-42 as a good choice. I'm confused which one to order. I see a full sized Panasonic 14mm-42mm and a compact 14mm-42mm. I know I'll order the wrong so which one is right?

If you have another recomendation on which lens I should order please let me know.

The compact (pancake) lens is the correct one. I’m not sure the other model will balance correctly.

As stated just ahead, the compact is correct one. Photography supplier incorrectly said and sent the full-sized. Not only would the full size not balance correctly, but the camera and/or software didn't recognize it (i.e, it wouldn't zoom and didn't provide the onscreen remote zooming feature). Supplier switched for the compact. I couldn't find a black compact one (maybe they don't make it?), so I settled for the silver one. I am not an expert in this and I'm only relating my experience with this lens. Hope that helps.
