Hey there.
I attempted flying a matrice 4TD to capture hot spots for an infrared test out here in Alberta. I flew at night at 550 ft agl using the black screen selection with white hot spots showing. They gave us 2 hours to cover one square km. Is there software that can stitch a map using these images? I know some software will allow you to change the thermal imagery colouration once it’s captured to properly stitch a map. I guess I’m asking …how do I capture these hot spots at night efficiently while flying automated. The hot spots for the test are small. They’re also ranging from 40 degrees to 300 Celsius. I’d like to create a map that only shows these hot spots.
Any ideas?

Yes any photogrammetry software can create a map of the images.

But you will need to capture it correctly with high overlap both front and side.

The next question is do you want the map to be radiometric, meaning do you want each pixel of the map to contain temperature data. If so your choices become less.

Radiometric solutions
Pix4Dmapper using a DJI RJPEG to TIFF tool
Agisoft Pro using a DJI RJPEG to TIFF tool
Drone Deploy can use the DJI RJPEG as is

There are probably others, but the above I can confirm and have tested.

To capture them efficiently, use an area grid mission in Pilot 2. High overlap front and side.
