More dumb noob questions!!!

I have added a lot of info to the cheat sheet I have on Google Drive from pilotinstitute.com, and I am gathering quick how-tos and feature summaries. I know that it is possible to 'run" the remote without the drone being on with the RC2 (Air 3) if you power it all up, load the RC, and then kill power to the drone. Even that is somewhat limited in some instances, but there is still a lot of functionality and features you can modify, with the RC2 being connected to power, the drone off, and be able to set config settings on the controller. I have not tried this yet; however, I really want to try to do something like this to work on the controller config without the drone sitting there sucking on the battery until I reboot or am ready to fly. Its the newer RC plus 2 Enterprise Enhanced controller. Does anyone have any of this experience doing anything like this? I don't want to detonate it.

While there are some configuration changes that can be made on the RC Plus 2 controller without being connected to the drone, most require being connected to the drone, because the change actually needs to be written to the drone to be saved.
