Matrice 4T as relay

Hi, I have a Matrice 4T and am wondering if it can act as a relay for the Matrice 4D series. There are lots of comments about using the 4D series as relays but nothing about the original Matrice 4 series. I am on the latest RC firmware and I see the Icon for relay so I think it's possible, but would be good to know before I order a 4D to use as the relay partner.

I don't know the answer, but you could ask in DJI Support. I have had good luck with them answering questions.

Also, please share the results, as everyone here would most likely be interested in the results.

The reason I think the Matrice 4 can act as a relay for the 4D range is as this screenshot of my 4T controller shows, the option to act as a relay is available on it.

WHILE THE OTHER OPTION SAYS "SEARCH FOR RELAY" DRONE.

THE RC WINDOW SHOWN APPEARS TO BE THE M4T RC WINDOW.

ITS ASKING YOU TO FIND THE OR LINK TO THE 4TD OR 4D WHICH IS THE "RELAY DRONE"

THE 4T OR 4E DO NOT ACT AS RELAYS. THEY CAN ONLY ACT AS RECEIVER / MISSION DRONES USING THE 4D / 4DT OR THE M400 AS "RELAY" DRONES.

JUST SPOKE TO DJI TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENTERPRICE DEPARTMENT:

2 MATRICE 4D/4TD DRONES- ONE CAN ACT AS A RELAY AND ONE CAN ACT AS MISSION/RECEIVER- R&D DID THAT IN THE 4D NEW FIRMWARE BECAUSE THE 4D HAS A GROUND STATION AND USED THE RELAY OPTION TO INCREASE SALES, EVEN THOUGH THE GROUND STATION ISN'T NEEDED SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS FUNCTION. JUST THE FIRMWARE IS WHAT CHANGED.

2 MATRICE 400 CAN ACT AS BOTH RELAY AND MISION BECAUSE THEIR SALES AND R&D DEPTS PURPOSELY ADDED IT TO THE FIRMWARE FROM THE BEGINNING.

2 MATRICE 4T/4E -THE SUPPORT TECHNICIAN SAID, THE MATRICE 4D AND MATRICE 4T OR E HAVE THE SAME HARDWARE AND, THE RELAY/ RECEIVER FUNCTIONS ADDED TO THE 4D 4DT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GROUND STATION EXCEPT THE SALES AND R&D GUYS ADDING IT THE THE 4D 4TD FIRMWARE. IT DOESNT REQUIRE THE GROUND STATION, THEY ADDED IT BECAUSE THE 4TD IS MORE EXPENSIVE AND THOUGHT THE BUYERS WOULD BUY MORE IF THE OPTION WAS INCLUDED.

THE SUPPORT TECHNICIAN SAID, THE M4T AND M4E ARE THE SAME HARDWARE AS THE 4D , SO ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS GET SALES AND R&D TO ADD THE OPTION IN A FUTURE FIRMWARE UPDATE.

THE SUPPORT TECH, SAID HE WILL ENTER A REQUEST TO UPGRADE THE 4T AND 4E FIRMWARE TO GIVE USERS A RELAY AND MISSION OPTION WITH IF THEY OWN 2 4T OR 4Es.

-For you users with M4T or M4E drones, that want the relay/mission option put in a firmware update faster- start calling the TECH SUPPORT NUMBER- AND PICK ENTERPRISE DRONE TECH SUPPORT.
