UK CAP 1763 / ANO 2018 / ANO 2019 : What Changes for CAA certified 'Remote Pilots' ?

I have only this month obtained what I thought was standard permissions. The wording of my PFCO is curious and says that "Have permission to operate small unmanned aircraft of 20kg or less, for the purposes of commercial operations and for operations over or within 150 metres of any congested...

    X7

Ok this ain’t gonna be popular. If you are not a documentary film maker or work in the movies this is a massive waste of money for the vast majority of pilots.

UK Built Up Areas Risk Assessment

You will need a restricted flying amendment to your ops manual. Pro forma risk assessment to hand out with instructions to basically lie on the floor in control loss situations. You will need spotters, not for the aircraft but for human targets. Watch the TV and see how we fly. You will see...

    UK Pfco practice maneuvers

David how did ground school go? JC suggested simulator if your aircraft has one. This is a great idea and will help you through Those rainy days. You could also get a little trainer Blade, Hubsan etc from the net for £50-100 that you can fly inside. They have the same controls as any UAV and...

    UK Pfco practice maneuvers

This is bang on. Not interested in inverted nose-in yaw. In the U.K. Flight assessment is a fixed disciplin based on safety. In the U.K. If an assessor is asking for nose-in or nose-out (banked turning) figure 8's then this is down to them not the CAA assessment criteria. I didn't do any...

Make sure you know the details on you Flight Ref Cards they will ask questions like what frequency and what power output also describe your return to home protocol etc. This is the bit most fail on as the flying is easy and just consists of flying from point to point, altering heights...

Calibrate your lens on a static surface on auto f2.8 focus on a high contrast subject 50-75 metres away. Believe me this is a high class lens which is basically Panasonic. It can take a while to get it right but once calibrated it produces pin sharpe images at infinite range. Your images are...
