Stock lens is indeed the Pana, Works very well, actually i use it on my Olympus OM-D E-M1. No complains

Also depends what you do with it. We almost exclusively shoot stills, the X5R wouldn't be better for us. For stills, the X5 is vastly superior to the X3. Dynamic range and quality of lenses are enough to make the jump. I also think if it is to go only X3 and without a specific need for 2x pilot...
