I want to note that I'm a tech writer and not a drone user currently.
I live in a remote, mountainous region of Northern Idaho and, due to our severe winters and extremely rugged terrain, we face tough challenges when it comes to search and rescue operations.
It has become apparent to everyone in our community that our first responder drone operations are both understaffed and under-equipped to deal with the scope of our problems here.
In response to this realization, a growing number of residents are educating themselves in an effort to build up a volunteer base of drone pilots who can respond to emergencies more quickly within our own immediate areas.
In support of that effort, I started a deep dive into emergency drone operations a few months ago.
I welcome your comments and suggestions as I continue building up my knowledge base.
