This is a problem with all cameras. You Have to make sure that your Shutter speed is set at 50 (Europe) or 60 (USA) frames a second. What you see is the flickering of the streetlights that are powered by alternative current!

I'm not sure about the x5 vs x3 battle as the x5's latitude doesn't look great, but for normal cameras the burned out yellow highlights, infinite DOF, and overly sharpened images will most certainly be felt by the average TV consumer. They may not be able to point out what feels wrong, but they...
