    RAWS -Charging For?

I think the OP was the production team from film to editing .... that's the case for many on the forum and for others its work for hire where the drone film is part of a larger piece of work. Many forum members are film-makers or small production teams that have added a drone to their arsenal...

    RAWS -Charging For?

All of what you say describes a "work for Hire " agreement. That is totally different from producing a finished packaged product of the type the OP describes. the two are very different.

    RAWS -Charging For?

The real question is "what will the footage be used for" Licenses are granted based on use, the price for work used internally only will be less than work licensed for use on a TVC ( for television broadcast). Firstly understand what they will use it for, establish how much it might cost them...

UK Advice on potential commerciality to footage please

Sadly, a very good point well made....... helicopter is becoming a commercial possibility again at a time when I thought I wouldn't be flying one again. The unlicensed operator is sadly probably the most efficient way to go. Assuming that you cant be prosecuted for using footage obtained in such...

UK Advice on potential commerciality to footage please

Isn't it against the law to "Pick up the phone" while driving ... pot calling the kettle black. I have earned my living and those of many many staff in the film industry for many years. I do get your point, specifically when things like losing the job to non licensed individuals is concerned...

UK Advice on potential commerciality to footage please

Assuming you have a driving license I doubt you pick up the phone to the cops every time you see a car parked on a double yellow line or dob yourself in when you go a couple over the limit! Just because you have the license and credentials doesn't make you the police, judge, jury or executioner...

    Client Music For Video

Its an interesting subject and I'm always pleased when people are aware that music copyright must be taken seriously. The music depends on a number of factors ... What style the subject is shot it for instance is it moody, active romantic etc etc. Rarely a good idea to have clients choose...

Question re DJI's No Fly Zone override service

Fully in agreement, the rules for licencing in the UK are considerably more robust than in the rest of the world, and as a licenced UAV operator you are effectively a qualified pilot with equal rights and responsibilities in the airspace for which you are licensed operationally. Therefore ALL...

Question re DJI's No Fly Zone override service

Devils advocate here .... isn't an exemption just that .... an exemption from requiring a licence ..... it doesn't necessarily follow that you are qualified and "licensed" to fly in a NFZ. That said it is my personal belief that the removal of the NFZ should only be done with a written...

USA What is a reasonable fee structure?

One thing we always factor in is purpose and end use licence. if its a car shot for your local used car lot the value is VERY different to the same shot used for Ford's next national advertising campaign. we are always very careful about stipulating what usage is covered in the licence we grant...
