I wish DJI would adopt XAVC, the new standard in broadcast compression. Same quality as prores but half the file size! Prores in the tv industry is passe!
Another thing is that would you not have to have a tablet with internet all the time, whether it be the Crystal sky or iPad? Even if you tested the red zone the day before and it was fine, I don’t want to be faced with a firmware update required last minute before the flight.
Would the Matrice M210 RTK be better for red zone flying than the Inspire 2? I have both.
I’m wondering if my Z30 Camera would work for this. I have the X7 on the Inspire 2 but if the Z30 isn’t suitable but the RTK is, then I would have to get the X5S for it as the 200 series Matrice birds...
It’s a shame that DJI didn’t adopt the Sony codec XAVC !
It is much better than Prores in the fact it is the same quality but half the file size.
Just imagine how far a 480 gb ssd drive can go if it could record XAVC raw!
All the broadcasters are using XAVC now. Too bad Apple and Atomos are...
Using the bird to pan is not the proper way to do it. In a pinch or for re composing shot, yes, but for actual cinematic filming, it is not recommended.
The Inspire 1 with an X3 camera was used on all the stock aerial shots of the TV Show "Quantico' when it was filmed in Montreal! Yes, the X7 and X5S are nice but the X3 is still an excellent option!
Just wondering if DJI has updated their compatibility list in whether or not the X7 will work on the M210 series?
Would be nice to have on an M210 instead of having to purchase an Inspire 2.
The other variable of course would be the SSD drive to record RAW. I don't suppose DJI will allow that...
Please don’t cut and paste a huge article about something we all saw on dji’s web site!
The post has no value! We get it. We saw it already!
