Australia Inpire opened new challenges... and opportunites - please help

They specifically mention power line inspection so I'd say the XT is what you want. Thermal IR of heat signatures to see stressed metals. If it is anything like the Osmo release there will be massive demand and a great shortage of stock, so you may need to be patient for it.

What sort of IR imaging do you want to do exactly? Are we talking NDVI or thermal imaging? DJI have just announced a new FLIR Zenmuse thermal IR camera that should be available in <insert timeframe here>. If you are talking NDVI, you can modify the X3 camera to do this. I have a modified X3, the...

Good news. Like everyone else going through the proper channels, I have invested a lot of time and money in to getting certified. The last thing this industry needs is every Tom, **** and Harry out there taking jobs with their Syma and safety being an afterthought.

So my OC application is in and review is slated for some time in April. My trainer believes that CASA has streamlined their process though and it will probably happen in February. eeee can't wait!

Hi Ray, you will be able to get assistance with your manual for under $2k if you need it. Do need to be careful though as I have heard that some people out there are just selling the CASA template as-is.

Hi Peter, That's interesting what you say about work & recouping costs. Other people I know both directly and indirectly are doing very well for themselves. Can I ask what kind of jobs you were taking and what sort of advertising you were running if any?

Hey Lofty, how did you go with your radio research? Just looking now also. It looks like the A15 AUS is the only ACMA certified handheld radio for air operations. The information available is clear as mud though. If the list was so small you would expect there to be a quick reference guide on...

Hi Lofty, I believe that is if you have a radio operators certificate and intend on communicating with aircraft or control towers. iCom is supposedly the only approved brand of radio that you can use. My understanding is that you can still obtain a UOC and operate within your legal limits...

Never mind I found it. They also state that they are putting more resources in to the department so it should ease by the end of the year. "We anticipate a graduated reduction in waiting time such that by January 2016 the delay before commencing assessment will be 2 months from payment of...

Sounds like we are pretty much on the same schedule. I spent all of last night updating firmware on my Inspire. I wish the instructions were a little clearer. I ended up watching videos on YouTube to make sure I was doing it right. If you leave the firmware file on the card the additional...

Hey budd o/ Brisbane'er here. Just picked up my Inspire 1 this week and UAV cert is in the mail. Exciting times. I don't think you have to worry about an Inspire 2 anytime soon. I mean, why develop such an amazing airframe with modular mounting point only to replace it in a years time? I think...
