I had a very similar problem with Panasonic 14-42mm Where randomly during zooming in/out the App would pop up message saying Lens Disconnected and it has to be reseated in order to work properly again. Does not happen with Olympus 17mm Could be lens.
I do have balancing ring for the Panasonic 14-42mm that i Do not need as I gave the lens back due to issues I mentioned in previous posts I could send it to you for a buck (to cover stamp cost)
For inspection it should be fine. For filming it's very poor. Lots of distortion, bit blurry at times and vibration when zoomed in. You dont need anything else.
Do you know what Class (Speed) Is your Micro SD? ex. Class 10 U1 Also are you recording in H.265? Some players may have trouble playing such High frame rate video and to be honest it's for editing into Slow-Mo videos not playback
I'm gonna give it few more tried but I also ordered 17mm Olympus lens and if it's sharper I will most likely drop the zoom and focus on quality overall, thanks.
I exchanged the Olympus equivalent because of horrible noises gimbal did now I have the Panasonic 14-42mm and the official balancing ring for it. Sadly there is a lot of strange shaking when I film (Not only when I zoom in/out) and I'm on the edge of tears, less than month from now I have to...
The lens of Olympus 14-42mm but the ring is from Panasonic 14-42mm someone on the forums said the rings are interchangeable. It's hard to check balance because lens retracts one off
I have bought the Olympus and the balancing ring. It makes very strange noise during startup. It also appears from time to time when rotating gimbal to certain angles. Is this noise normal? I can't be normal.
