    UK PfCO audits

Sounds hopeful, did your’s also have a notice about not filing MOR ECCAIRS reports anonymously?

    UK PfCO audits

Hmm, if you haven’t received one yet then I guess it’s not just a bulk email to all PfCO holders ...

    UK PfCO audits

It wasn’t a notification that they were actually going to audit us, just a notification that they would be starting a new round of audits and that some companies might receive an email notification of audit at some point. I wondered if any other PfCO holders had received the same email?

    UK PfCO audits

Have other PfCO holders in the UK just received an email from the CAA to give notice that they are starting a round of PfCO holder audits? Is this an email that has been sent to all PfCO holders or is it more ominous?

    9-18 lens

The zoom lenses do have there uses. The 9-18mm is handy when you need a wider FOV than the widest prime. The 14-42mm is excellent for inspection work as it allows you to move quickly from an overview to detailed view without having to move the drone.

    9-18 lens

The 9-18mm lens is manual only but the 14-42mm pancake lens can be zoomed using a slider, which appears on the Go4 screen when a motorised zoom lens is detected. One issue with the motorised zoom is that the built in lens correction i mentioned in a previous post is set when you press record so...

    9-18 lens

No, the lens is pretty good on it’s own in that respect and the Inspire 2 applies it’s own correction which results in a nice rectilinear image.

    9-18 lens

Use it often for it’s wide angle (9mm) capability and it’s quite good. Maybe not as sharp as the 12mm or 25mm primes but much sharper than the 14-42.

    Panasonic LUMIX G X Vario PZ 14-42mm Pancake/Zoom Tip

You appear to have way too much weight on the front of that! Did you balance it with the lens closed? I take of the rear plastic ring and achieve balance with the small & light hood that came with the lens or a single ND filter. No need to stack that many filters/rings!

Can I zoom (with the right lens) with the X5S?

I wonder why you aren’t seeing the zoom control in the DJI app? Very strange.

Can I zoom (with the right lens) with the X5S?

You can only zoom using the DJI Go app with the pancake version of the 14-42, not the standard lens. ...

    Lens Recomendation for X5S

Once you fit a lens with a motorised zoom, the Go4 app adds a zoom control onto the right hand side of main screen.

    Lens Recomendation for X5S

It’s certainly not as good as the Olympus prime lenses but whether you would call it a bad lens is subjective. It depends on your requirements. From memory the prime lenses are around F1.8 to F2 whilst the 14-42 is only F3.5-5.6. The smaller the minimum F stop the faster the lens. It’s usually...

Uncertainty on Correct Panasonic 14mm-42mm Lens to Order.

The compact (pancake) lens is the correct one. I’m not sure the other model will balance correctly.

    Lens Recomendation for X5S

I have the 9-18, 12, 15, 17, 25 45 and 14-42. The 12 & 25 are used for the vast majority of my filmic work. The 9-18 is great when I need a wider view and is nearly always set to 9mm. The 14-42 is great for things like roof inspections where you can shoot wide to establish location & zoom to...
