DJI X5 Lens Test Olympus 14-42mm

Indeed ... it's a fair lens, for sure, and the ability to dial in the fov while in the air is great. I can't imagine trying to do a smooth zoom while flying .. well, I guess I could .. in hover ... but more often than not I'm trying to use the flying aspect to change parallax and perspective...

DJI X5 Lens Test Olympus 14-42mm

It's not scientific, but "I think so" .... I used it today, after using the 17mm Zuiko, and I wanted a littel tighter fov, so with the 14-42 at around 22-30mm I see the image quality from one clip to the other, and it's not a lot different. It was not also using it for anything but trying to...

DJI X5 Lens Test Olympus 14-42mm

I always zoom with the trigger/thumbknob control ... next time I'll try it with the app slider.to see if that is different. I haven't been using mine lately either. Most use I got out of it was mounting the thing on a small jib on my Cineslider for some pretty cool dynamic shots of ice ... but...

DJI X5 Lens Test Olympus 14-42mm

Yes I have .. .I even tried it with the Focus Handwheel, but it still had that jerky/lumpy motion (and went out of focus). Interesting you got yours to work smoothly. Maybe some setting in the App that is unbeknownst to us mortals? Would be really cool to be able to set up synchronized in/out...

DJI X5 Lens Test Olympus 14-42mm

Mixchief is correct, and it's true, it's decent, and useful.. sometimes you need multiple focal lengths without craft recovery. I've used my 14-42 on my X5r extensively on Osmo RAW as well as LB2+A3 system, and the motors are fine.. I wasn't always balanced perfect as I was changing filters and...

DJI X5 Lens Test Olympus 14-42mm

What are you guys looking at? I can attest to the compression on teh X5/X5R being total garbage (like it's the same as the X3, Z3, cams, in my experience).

DJI X5 Lens Test Olympus 14-42mm

I'm finding the Oly 14-42 very nice. Lovely sunbursts, quite sharp enough for my purposes (shooting RAW nature stuff mostly) and only complaints would be that it is not wide enough for forest walking shots (so I got the Panny 12mm for that) and that the zoom is a jerk ... as in zoom to frame...

DJI X5 Lens Test Olympus 14-42mm

Hi, I just read this thread and got good info (just bought an X5R Osmo kit) and been looking for the right lens for days .. as you all probably know, it's very confusing. I know now which one does work, and that is the EZ pancake. But I wonder .. has anyone tried this: Panasonic Lumix G X...
