AFC what is this autofocus mode good for?

I'm not sure about your question, but I understand to be, do the various camera devices automatically focus as in a typical SLR, where you may be able to 'continually focus' , and the answer is no. You either have a 'slider' to manually focus (visual, on your screen) , or, if in autofocus mode...

Oly 25mm f1.8 soft on one side

Any chance you can furnish a capture I have that lens on my X5S and while not a professional I wonder if you can furnish a picture/esample of this softness?

    Olympus 25mm f1.8 lenshood

The lens balancing is one of those serendipitous moments that rarely happens. LOL

    Lumix 14-42 Not Autofocusing

Ugh, rebooted everything, removed and reseated lens, double UGH, it works fine. Wonder how long I have to live (am 79) before I actually believe re-booting and starting afresh fixes most problems. LOL

    Lumix 14-42 Not Autofocusing

Of course should have been more specific; focus can be done via app. Not a big deal but couldn't think of any inherent reason why autofocus would not work. Fiddled with it for awhile, but the 'manual', think C1 set and of course finger on slide bar. When attempting the 'green' autofocus error...

    Lumix 14-42 Not Autofocusing

Dug into my grab bag of stuff I don't use and found a Lumix 14-42, 3.5-5.6. Says acceptable lens for X5R. I think I originally purchased it as a means to determine what primes I wanted. Get error, 'CAMERA NOT CONNECTED' but am able to focus in MF. Would I be incorrect in assuming that this lens...

    X5R in 2020 [upgrading from X3]

...Basically my dilemma is if i buy an X5R will I in 3 years be looking for an I2 or even an I3 whenever that comes along. Since you are a seasoned user I think you may have answered your own question as we all face the inevitable vicious cycle LOL. Good luck. BTW, seems DJI pulled it off...

    X5R in 2020 [upgrading from X3]

At the risk of being obvious and hopefully not insulting, I might ask your motive for upgrading the X3. I have the X5R on I1V2, X5S on I2, and Z3 on I1. If you are seriously into photography or videography, well, seems investing in the X5R an 'ok' move, but consider the life of the platform...

    X5S Balancing Question Lumix 14-42

Great reply, and I did/do know the term/abbreviation for Center of Gravity, not sure why I didn't use it. Regardless, you reply happened to catch my attention relative to an older point and shoot camera I had, as the T-W range was not a staight in-out, but kind of a double in-out. Difficult to...

    X5S Balancing Question Lumix 14-42

A superb answer as now I know how to extend the lens and balance fully extended, but as I reflect perhaps set midpoint and balance at that point. Truth is not an impressive lens but hoping it is at least as good the Z3 which can get some decent telephoto footage in a pinch.

    X5S Balancing Question Lumix 14-42

No, it does not. The question as I wrote it seemed clear, but again: I am not using the DJI solution/balancing rings, I have the lens balanced; when extended does balance point change, and should that be addressed as there's no gimbal overload warning, or, is the imbalance within tolerance...

    X5S Balancing Question Lumix 14-42

This may draw the search engine admonition, but still needs an explanation rather than what I cannot find. I shoot primarily prime lenses on my X5S but thought I'd tinker with the Panasonic LUMIX 14-42 with its zoom capability. Not necessarily a great lens but can come in handy at times. I have...

    autofocus x5

There is no continuous focus on you camera as there is on quality DSLR’s. Obviously you can compute your DOF and play the trade-off game or as you are doing refocus and handle the blips in video editing. Or, keep you camera Inside the DOF.

    Lens question.

You r probably correct on all points.

    Lens question.

Not to forget a variable ND filter so that you can at least attempt to home in on other settings.
