    UK PfCO and Public Places

I fly frequently from the intertidal zone with no permission. My PfCO or the ANO does not state that I need permission from land owners to flyover, assuming all standard rules are adhered to. However, I do try and inform where practical to do so, commercial or not.

    UK UK insurance renewal

Most contracts stipulate £5 million minimum and the Dept of Communities ask for £10 million

    UK UK insurance renewal

Too expensive for me when I multiply it up. It might be ok for low number of jobs though.

Yeah coverdrone does the 1mill too and it can be upped temporarily if a job requires more.

It's that time of year again. Anyone done any recent shopping around for Insurance? Any big differences?

Is GPS from Inspire 2 enough?

I would say yes. As you say it is an inventory, you are identifying trees by there canopy and counting them probably over a large area. Anyway you don’t have much option as you would not see GCPs under the canopy. Just my take on it.

Getting more accurate altitude data from EXIF

In fact the OP in rhis thread is a cut and paste from my original post on both forums! Not great posting it as if it's your own work! Search in this forum for "Sorting out DJI's bad GPS altitude". Sorry no direct link...still only on TapaTalk.

Getting more accurate altitude data from EXIF

I posted a step by step on this on the Photoscan forum and here year ago...theres about. There are 2 Python scripts that do this the easy way now. Sorry I'm only on my phone right now so no links, but they are there in the Photoscan forum.

    UK flights overhead

If you look carefully they are nearly all rise shots probably taking off from someone's garden or park hopefully with permission. I could see nothing illegal in those shots.

    RTK/PPK GPS on DJI Inspire

I'd be interested in how you get on with the Reach and any eventual workflow as well as any ground truthing.

I think the SRT file records to ms. Switch 'Captions' on in the Go app to get the SRT file recorded.

UK UK CAA PfCO renewal after PfAW expired...

I learned lesson last year...doing my renewal now at the earliest the CAA accept I.e. 3 months before expiry of existing permission. It will then run on from the natural expiry of your existing PfCO, I'm not risking any gap this year due to long CAA processing queues.

UK FAO: UK & European commercial UAV pilots

I refused to pay monthly fees so this is welcome. Can I ask that you publish your fee model here? Also I'm more than a little cautious when a business only publishes a mobile number, doesn't give a professional feel to it. Just sayin'.

UK Private estates and public footpaths

From a PfCO perspective you do need permission from the landowner for all takeoff and landings, it is very clear. There is no provision in the Permission for exceptions. Sorry to burst your bubble but that's the law within your permit. Remember too that if you fly out side your PfCO your...
