UK Permission to fly within 150m of open air assembly

As an observation, for two years running a drone ( inspire ) did film at one of the Henley regattas. They flew on opposite side of river to the crowds and mainly operated on a quieter section of the river. They did however fly slightly within 150m of a large crowd. They did not cover the whole...

UK Adding to / changing an organisation's OM

Bob, if you practise during company time on company property then this is not for commercial gain. Commercial gain involves a client of some description. You would however need to ensure your company insurance covered this situation as would your colleagues. You do not need CAA permission to...

UK Adding to / changing an organisation's OM

Hi I'm slightly curious as to why you are submitting an OM to the CAA. Surely if your company submitted the OM to the CAA and got a PFAW you just need to be added to this and their insurance. The OM will probably specify what training you need to do to be added as a pilot. You would need to...

UK Whats The Point Of PFAW

Quite agreed "valuable consideration" does not need to be monetary. One company at our ground school had written clarification from the CAA that they did not need PFCO while operating on their own land and filming for the companies own use. They were however taking the course for safety...

UK Whats The Point Of PFAW

The MOU uploaded by Cornscot clearly states CAA are responsible for investigating and prosecuting breaches of PFCO and commercial work without permission. So if someone is conducting commercial work without PFCO we should be reporting to the CAA. On the other side I believe the Hotel owner is...

X5 Lens Profile gone in latest Go App & Firmware Update

Not sure if it is the same issue but it depends on power on sequence. I'm having to cycle remote and restart DJI Go after changing batteries. If I don't do this then Go does not recognise the lens properly..... effing annoying !!!

While there is a NOTAM there does not appear to be a corresponding chart updat to reflect this. Is this normal? Also Home is still showing them as prohibited.

    Help fix my footage!

I'm currently having similar issues with a a cheap ND8 filter. After some research it seems that the filter is not attenuating the Infra Red enough and adding a cast to the living things like trees. If you have this problem it cannot be corrected with simple "temperature" correction as the trees...

UK Advice on potential commerciality to footage please

At risk of continuing to resurect an old post......... Storm I suggest you contact the CAA. When I did my ground school there were people from British rail who were filming BR sites, for BR use, without a PFAW. They had contacted the CAA and had been informed that as they were doing work for...
