Yes there are definite limitations with the dslr’s. It’s possible to control basic functions but not all are available.

Yes I agree with you. All but the X5S are weather resistant. I wouldn’t fly the X5S in rain at all.

Actually all the cameras are IP43 rated except the X5S according to my rep at DJI The official ratings will be released soon.

All of the gimbals are IP 43 rated except the X5S. This is of course unofficial at this point but my contacts from inside DJI the rating will soon be announced for the XT,z30, x4s will be IP 43 The X5S rating is different and will come later.

You can't control the ISO, or aperture without an additional module that is 3rd party

Any camera under 10 lbs is compatible. The 3rd party cameras have less interface than the zenmuse but are compatible. I use a Sony A 7R2 myself
