With or without an ND filter on the lens, the balance is front heavy, and requires balance weight on the gimbal as shown in earlier pictures I posted. No need for a balance ring. The suggestion up above for BlueTac and coins as balancing weights is probably a good one. I am using lead weights...

Here are some pictures of my balancing of the lens. I purchased lenses (both the 12mm and the 45mm) used, and the hood came with the 12mm, but fits both. Balancing weights are velcro attached, and purchased off eBay from a UK source. Hope this helps.

Sounds like they make one for Android tablets as well. Let me know how much for a ipad mini Base and an android base for the Nexus 7 (4 1/2" x 7 1/2") Base.
