Calibrate Len Using Manual Focus Inspire 2 X5S

You got it almost right. Still, what you are referring to is "autofocus" calibration in DSLR where lens focus positions get micro-adjusted to camera focusing algorithm/metering - it is extremely unexpected for DJI to include any similar "autofocus calibration" as none of DJI cameras has any...

Calibrate Len Using Manual Focus Inspire 2 X5S

I did not try it myself on I2/X5S, still it is importnant to note that for I1/X5 manual focus calibration you should: 1. enable MF Focus Assistant 2. start calibration, which automaticaly set you in Video mode, and then you should change to Photo mode AFTER your start calibration. 3. finish...

    Olympus 45mm Lens Edge Distortion

As distortion is not present in ProRes and CinemaDNG, but just in MicroSD H264/265 files, it seems to me that it has something to do with "lens correction". It is known that lens correction is somehow applied to H264, while it is not applied to I2 ProRes recording, and CinemaDNG has lens...

X5R ProRes SD Footage vs SSD RAW

Despite resolution choices available in Go App, for X5R to behave in RAW recording - you should choose native resolution, that is 4K... For recording 1080p on SSD, camera does some pixel binning and produces artifacted recording... So, X5Rs RAW is (semi)usable just in 4K in 24/25/30 fps, to my...

    Calibrating Lens?

I do not own 14-42, but for such lens I would opt to calibrate at 42mm. As far as I know, when you calibrate GoApp for certain lens it will not remember several focal lengths but just one. As this calibration just sets "infinity focus button" focus point, I believe that it would be most accurate...

    D-Cinelike Vs D-Log

I do not own P4, but as far as I know all non-log color styles use Rec709 gamma.

Final and detailed guide on X5 "lens calibration"

I believe that on its narrow end, at 42mm where widest aperture is 5.6, hyperfocal distance is aprox 30m, while at 14mm f3.5 hyperfocal is aprox. 5m away - as this is a zoom lens I would reccomend you to calibrate your infinity button at target that is more than 30m away, to be at the safe side...

Final and detailed guide on X5 "lens calibration"

I very often fly my camera in single operator setup, while I get pretty close, less than 2m away, to scenery (such as trees, houses, cars, boats...). Beside that I offten shoot in dawn or sunset where F2.0 is neccesity due to poor ISO performance of the camera... As my distance from objects in...

Final and detailed guide on X5 "lens calibration"

Please note that (due sensor size, physical pixel size/density) strict focusing at infinity will give you smaller depth of field (less of foreground in focus) then focusing on some hyperfocal-distant but not "infinitely distant" object. Next to that, please consider that atmospheric phenomena...

Please compare X5R MicroSD H264 recording to X5

As far as I have learned, and as confirmed by Richard Hurst in post #2 of this thread - it seems that you can record only H264 when you fly without SSD card. Nevertheless, I still do not use X5R so I haven't tested this myself.

Please compare X5R MicroSD H264 recording to X5

Thank you! Your info is highly appreciated. You confirmed by your personal experience what I hoped for - that these two cameras share exactly the same strenghts and weaknesses in regard to H264, while "experts" and "testers" who have compiled mentioned "side by side comparisons" lacked...

    Matrice M600 + Sony A7RII

Hi, I had similar taught, but there are several problems to consider: - as far as I learned LB2 controller does not have any expo or gain settings for sticks sensitivity (there is no such option for LB2 despite it is present on Inspire1), so it would be very tedious to precisely controll big...

    X5R Iso Comparison Video

Thank you for your time and effort to compile this very illustrative demonstration. I had similar experiences with X5 - and got totally frustrated by horizontal noise flickering at ISO800 and above. I couldn't find the way to shoot any dark shade, late sunset or after sunset scenes so finally...

Please compare X5R MicroSD H264 recording to X5

Hello Richard, thank you for the reply. I know that you can shoot H264 - still I am confused how that recording will look compared to X5. My confusion comes from following YT video, as well as from X5R proxies shared by DP Philip Bloom, whare I can see that X5R proxy is superflat without any...
