CA New Drone Regulations In Canada for 2019

Reading through the above link with four pages of "Drones Approved for Advanced Operations" odd that no DJI drones are mentioned, not even their better flying Mavic's. Given the battery issues with the Inspire 2, even for 'redundant safety' (ahem!) with a second battery, poor hover stability...

    Sharpness of Olympus 12mm

Looks pretty good to me, aside from the reddish chromatic aberration that is visible on the top of the gray roof line in the nearest house. That can be better corrected in other programs than LR. I tried it in DxO Photolab 2 and it cleaned it up much better and much sharper too.

    Sharpness of Olympus 12mm

You'll need some body to do it. I don't know what caused me to question the 45mm. When I called Olympus Service is when they told me about updating the firmware in the lens for some issues. I took mine to the local Best Buy and asked the camera dept. manager "If I could check my lens on one...

    Sharpness of Olympus 12mm

I bought an Olympus 45mm. What I found out was Olympus had updated that lens a couple of times and the only way to do that online was with an Olympus body, or maybe a Panasonic. since the DJI camera cannot do lens updates. The other option was to send it to Olympus and pay them the $140 to do...

    Sensor Cleaning

I've used these swabs for my m4/3 cameras. Should work for the X5 with Eclipse. m4/3 cleaning swabs Another source of 12mm wipes is this Bulk 12mm swabs My Artic Butteryfly is trash. The plastic case and the Butterfly handle has turned into that gooey sticky plastic like one some...

    Sharpness of Olympus 12mm

Might want to spend some time at Imaging Resources Lens Reviews If you click on the chart on the right in the lenses that show Lab Reviews, it will open a window where you can move the f/stop and zoom sliders around to find the optimum focus spot. The 12mm prime seems to be sharpest at f/5.6...

    Will these ND filters fit

    I don't own one so can't say.

    Will these ND filters fit

Also, the Laowa 7.5mm vignettes enough as it is. A filter will make that issue far worse.

Blew my 2nd high pay film job! Please chime in.

I'm getting the notion DJI just doesn't care, just "Sell it at any cost to our pocketbook's favor" or "Just buy another one if the first one doesn't work out right as it must be your fault anyhow." Their updates are so slow as with the last seven month wait for the Phantom 4 that it invalidates...

    BLOWN out Reds??

Why not make your own LUT using a ColorChecker Passport and video software that uses that target like Davinci Resolve 14? Might help to get the color more accurate too. Fwiw, DJI has issues with Manual White Balance for several years now. I shoot with a green correction filter to keep the...

The sound of ticking from x5s

What lens were you using? I ask because the DJI stock lens when put onto my Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II makes the same ticking noise. Worse part is it will also freeze that body up too. Olympus did do some firmware updates to some of their own lenses that involved the aperture when doing...

Olympus 45mm with or without the hood?

I use a vented hood as I believe the solid one provided by Olympus for the 45mm f/1.8 will capture the wind or prop wash and cause some bad vibes, much like a wind vane. I have one similar to this one that came with some cheap 35mm CCTV lens I was playing with on the Pen-F camera...

    DJI X5S & Panasonic GH5 - Same Sensor?

Given DJI uses Panasonic lenses, wouldn't be a far stretch using same sensors too.

Dji 15m Mft lens cleaning help please [emoji257]

Good question. Even though Panasonic may have built the lens for DJI, would they service it? Same could be said of the DJI X7 lenses as well (Being Sigma or Panny built.). Dunno. Could be why DJI included that elastic band - that I never use (ahem!) - to cover the seams in the lens barrel too.

Question on Advanced Settings for X5S

I've heard where people like to use 7 seconds or longer in panning across a frame, maybe longer with the 45mm to avoid the jerkiness in panning. Slow goes it!
