Well here is a little update. The issue was in fact in the motor drive end stop sensor. I purchased the middle frame (part 19) and did the swap myself. I was going to send for repair but couldn't wait more than a few days and shipping to and from Hawaii is expensive. Got the part for $210...

The S35 sensor in the X7 is roughly the size of an APS-C Sensor, depending on what aspect ratio you record in will change this around a bit. To keep it simple just multiple all the focal lengths of these new lenses by 1.5 if you want to get the equivalent field of view of 35mm FULL FRAME.
