    Corrupt video files

Interesting. Mine were getting corrupted when the software ended the recording at the 4gb file size limit.

    Corrupt video files

Ive seen a few threads about corrupted video files and various ways to fix but most of these seem to be caused by power down before record completed. I've been having problems caused by the aircraft stopping the record due to the 4gb limit. The second video has always been ok. It seems to...

    horizontal shimmer in video

You might be right. I checked them when new and all seemed ok. I've only had two flights. The white ones were a little bit stiff. I've checked again and there is a small noise intermittently when checking the red ones with manual spin. This could cause some vibration. I'll advise DJI and...

    horizontal shimmer in video

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bx1C7jj50XwlTVlpZllOWkQxcDQ This is a zoomed in extract of a photo taken while hovering without movement. It's a pretty extreme crop but check out the distortion in the crane support. The same issue that seems visible in the video.

    horizontal shimmer in video

I've been doing some testing with new X5S and have found the video has a horizontal shimmer. The same issue appears in video by 15mm or 45mm lens. It's visible when hovering with no panning. Everything is balanced and seems smooth. see video attached which you need to view in 4K to see it in...

X5s balancing rings, filters and hoods

Now there is a X5S section I'm not sure if I can move the thread? anyhow, I've balanced my 45mm using the 23gm DJI balancing ring meant for the 14-42mm lens and then machined it back until balanced. The final weight was 14gms.

X5s balancing rings, filters and hoods

I've received the X5S, 15mm and 45mm so I'll see what weight the 45 requires to balance. I've got the DJI 23gm balancing ring which is too heavy on it's own but I'll machine it down to correct weight if possible. I noticed the 45mm is quite a bit tighter to lock into the X5S than the 15mm...

X5s balancing rings, filters and hoods

Interestingly I discussed with DJI support to see what they could say to clear up the questions about their own product manual info. There is no doubt DJI do some things well but I even had to send the support person a screen shot of the relevant part of manual. Then in the end they couldn't...

X5s balancing rings, filters and hoods

I've got I2, 15mm dji and 45mm on the way so will find out soon enough but was hoping to have it sorted upfront and be ready to go quickly. My reading of X5s manual is that the 6gm filter should also be used making it 20gms but your right we will know when we see them.

X5s balancing rings, filters and hoods

Hi Rotofan, Thanks for reply but they are quite different going on the tables in the user manuals. The required weights to balance are different and this makes sense given the hardware and centre of gravity will be different. The X5s setup with dji 15mm is 69grams lighter than X5 with same...

X5s balancing rings, filters and hoods

There doesn't seem to be a sections for X5s yet so I've put it here. Does anybody know where to get the balancing rings, hoods and filters to balance the lenses on the X5s? I've been having trouble finding the ones mentioned in the camera user manual.

DJI XT Powered by Flir is here!!!

Yes that's ok and there is no doubt about the applications for the XT but it's quite different to NDVI.

DJI XT Powered by Flir is here!!!

I can't see how the XT camera will help you calculate NDVI. You won't have any data in the visible light channels to apply to the formula. If you want to calculate NDVI then you will need a converted RGB camera or something specific like the multispectral cameras made by Micasense.

DJI XT Powered by Flir is here!!!

HI, I'm based in Aus and looking to find some XT sample images. Does anyone have any of their own thermal images (buildings, inspection type stuff) they are willing to share and wouldn't mind if I use in some promotional material? thanks.

    Reformatting is suggested

What has worked for me is. 1. format card via PC 2. format card in Inspire 3. Then copy bin and complete firmware updates. If it still doesn't work I've found using a different PC card reader/writer can fix the problem. I've had problems when bin has been transferred to the card via an...
