X5s ugly grid lens flare when shooting into sun

My bet....you are stopped down too far. On all chips (I first saw this on my RED camera n consulted an expert) if you have a bright light source shinning directly in the lens and are stopped down too far, the finely focused light will bounce off the sensor, then the lens, then back to the...

    X7 Gimbal Balance Problems

Agreed. Would be nice if they were designed to balance with a filter in place. That would allow you to use any ND, or just a place holder UV or something and never have to worry about balance. Wadaya want for $1,000's... Hope it all works out...I'm still jealous of your camera.

    X7 Gimbal Balance Problems

I'm with you. My X5s is MUCH more stable than my Movi IMHO. The point is I believe that the harder a machine works, the faster it wears out. If true, not having to work as hard to hold the lens in position, the longer it should (should) remain in service. That's all.

    X7 Gimbal Balance Problems

If you keep them clean you can put multiple ND filters on the front to balance. You could even remove the glass from a UV filter and wrap Gaff tape around the empty ring until it balances perfectly. They you also have a stealth lens hood......

Our X7 Arrived Not Working - Very Frustrated!

Get it to DJI as fast as you can before they claim they have no replacements to send you and make you wait For....EV....ER

Our X7 Arrived Not Working - Very Frustrated!

I think you're right. It's a time-space thing. They didn't have the time, or the space to put a slip ring in so it could be a true 360 gimbal....

Our X7 Arrived Not Working - Very Frustrated!

Yes...spooky when you first witness it. It's called quick spin. Look it up and watch a video so you are prepared for the event. FWIW, it has to be enabled in the software and it will not work unless you are more than 10 or 15 feet above the ground. (which I find a bit disconcerting...

Our X7 Arrived Not Working - Very Frustrated!

Agreed. It's a business decision. One might lose customers, the other might have regulating authorities intervene.

Southern engineers of the world UNITE. It’s a quick and affordable if not unfortunately necessary work around

Our X7 Arrived Not Working - Very Frustrated!

I have 2 x5s because of the same issue. We struggled for months with support, firmware juggling, etc to deal with high frequency vibrations that made the gimbal hot to the touch and finally showed in the fies. Get a replacement as quick as you can. When ours showed up my first reaction was...

UK Hardware Out There That Takes 300MB res stills on a drone

Nope. I have a RED and the stills out of it are no good. Substantially softer than what you can get with DSLR. Nikon makes a 36mp DSLR, might try that.

    Help with X5s

I hope this isn't bad form, but FWIW If you are still thinking of buying the X5s I might have a refurb for sale. My original X5s was defective and we had to buy another to replace as we had a job that didn't give us time for the LONG DJI turn around. In theory the replacement is on it's way...

    X5S gimble high pitch noise?

That's great. I'd sent ours back a few weeks ago. DJI said they were replacing it. I'm only assuming that if a FW update would have done the trick they would have just done that and sent it back. But when first you assume.....

    X5S gimble high pitch noise?

I disagree with this being normal. Mine did that from day one. I've always used Movi gimbals which are completely silent, so was suspicious. I could also see the image on my iPad shaking every so slightly, which is also wrong, but attributed it to video lag etc as I never saw it in the...

    Cinema DNG in Premiere

Thought about that. the files are so dark in premiere I can barely see well enough to edit. I'll have to see if I can use proxy files in resolve and edit there.
